Mark, Deerpark Tree Care
Mark began his career in the industry in 2003, with a local tree surgeon after completing a NVC L3 in Forestry at Ballyhaise College –Teagasc. Developing his knowledge and skills led Mark to co-founding his previous company Abbey Tree Services; a key contractor for ESB Networks with deployment on projects all over the country. It was here he continued to perfect his trade before the launch of Deerpark Tree Care.
Mark has had a lifelong interest in the outdoors so working in Tree Surgery is a natural fit for him. He has a particular interest in climbing and has trees of 130m. He is constantly innovating practice with ropes, knots and methods of ascending quickly and safely. His favourite part of any job being to reach the top of a tree and take in the views from the surrounding landscape.
His love of the industry also follows him into his hobbies; a novice in whittling he enjoys carving spoons from offcuts of timber. He is a keen runner, with his dog Dustin accompanying him on all the local trails. In the summer months, Mark can be found in the local GAA pitch either playing or coaching. He is actively involved with the Junior Football team, U8 Camogie and the Nursery programme.

Amy
A graduate of NUIG, Amy comes to Deerpark Tree Care from a career break as an English Teacher. She is responsible for overseeing the procurement, management and marketing activities of the company.
Amy finds balancing the commitments of a small business with the opportunities for development an exciting challenge and believes that connection with our customers and excellent standards of quality and service ensure a bright future for the company.
Amy enjoys swimming, particularly in Lough Key and on Achill Island, and participates in open water events.
She initiated Boyle Breastfeeding Support in 2017, has recently began coaching with Boyle Celtic at youth level, and is the Chairperson of the local Primary School Parent’s Association.
Amy is forever trying to propagate plants and thoroughly enjoys growing seeds for cut flowers and swapping cuttings with friends; hoping for the best and being constantly delighted when anything manages to grow!
